Refund Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This Refund Policy explains when and how contributions made through WISHLane (wishlane.com) may be refunded. It supplements our Terms of Service. By making a contribution, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.
1. Contributions Are Voluntary
- Contributions on WISHLane — donations and full wish fulfillments — are voluntary gifts to the wish creator and are generally non-refundable once processed.
- Because funds are intended to go directly toward a creator's stated need, we cannot guarantee that a contribution can be reversed after it has been made.
2. Where Your Contribution Goes
- Contributions are processed by PayPal and paid directly into the wish creator's own PayPal account at the moment you pay. WISHLane never holds a contribution — there is no WISHLane balance, waiting period or payout step in between.
- This means WISHLane cannot itself pull a contribution back. A refund of a contribution is issued by the creator, or through PayPal's own dispute process.
- A wish cannot accept contributions until its creator has connected a verified PayPal account, so there is never money waiting on a creator to finish signing up.
3. When a Refund May Be Appropriate
- A refund may be appropriate where:
- • the contribution was a duplicate or made in error;
- • the contribution was unauthorized (for example, fraudulent use of your PayPal account or card); or
- • the wish is found to be fraudulent, misleading, or in violation of our Terms.
- In these cases, contact us (Section 4). We will ask the creator to issue the refund through PayPal and, where a wish breaks our Terms, suspend it so it can take no further contributions.
4. How to Request a Review
- Email support@wishlane.com within 14 days of your contribution, including your PayPal receipt, the wish, the amount, and the reason for your request.
- We aim to respond within 5 business days. Refunds are returned through PayPal to your original payment method and may take several business days to appear.
5. PayPal Disputes and Chargebacks
- If you don't recognize a payment or believe it was made in error, please contact us before opening a dispute — we can often resolve it faster.
- You can also use PayPal's Resolution Center or your card issuer. A dispute is raised against the creator, who received the funds, and is decided under PayPal's rules, not WISHLane's.
- When a contribution is refunded, reversed or disputed, the amount is automatically removed from the wish's raised total.
6. Tips, Boosts and Support WISHLane Payments
- Optional tips, wish Boosts and Support WISHLane payments are paid to WISHLane, not to a creator, so we handle these refunds ourselves. They are generally non-refundable, but we will refund a duplicate or mistaken payment if you contact us within 14 days.
7. Fees
- PayPal's processing fees and WISHLane's platform fee (disclosed at checkout) may not be returned when a contribution is refunded, even if the contribution amount itself is.
8. Registry Items Bought From a Retailer
- When you gift a registry item by buying it from the retailer yourself, no money passes through WISHLane. Returns, refunds and delivery problems are handled by that retailer under its own policies.
9. Creator Responsibilities
- Wish creators are responsible for using contributions toward the need they described, and for handling refunds of contributions they received when one is warranted. Misuse may result in account suspension.
- WISHLane does not audit or verify how a creator spends funds. Contributions reach the creator's PayPal account directly, and our role does not extend to tracking their use afterward.
10. Changes to This Policy
- We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
